About this book

Essential Maths is a series of nine books for use in Years 7, 8, and 9. The books provide full coverage of the requirements of the National Curriculum. Essential Maths Book 9S has been written for pupils in Year 9 who are working within the National Curriculum Level 3–5 Tier. There is a comprehensive NNS guide at the start of the book with references to all topics. Essential Maths provides: plenty of revision material in Unit 5 of the book to consolidate Key Stage 3 work; 20 individual revision tasks that can be tackled as a complete block or spread out throughout the year, possibly forming revision homeworks; a wealth of carefully graded questions to stimulate an interest in mathematics; differentiated exercises on topics to encourage consolidation and provide challenge; pupil self-assessment points throughout the book; a focus on mathematical themes from the past; a selection of puzzles, investigations and mental arithmetic problems; and numerical answers in separate books.
